Energy cooperation is a central component of the strategic partnership announced by Canada and Türkiye on 22 October 2026.
The joint leaders’ statement identifies liquefied natural gas, civil nuclear energy, renewables and clean technologies among the areas for deeper collaboration. It also calls for cooperation on sustainable mining, critical minerals supply chains and the resilience of energy infrastructure.
Agenparl’s coverage places these priorities within a broader package of bilateral agreements. The partnership is supported by a three-year action plan, with implementation overseen through the two countries’ foreign ministers.
The programme defines areas in which investment and industrial collaboration will be encouraged. It does not, on its own, establish that a particular plant, supply contract or capital commitment has been finalised.
The international investment story is therefore the creation of a cooperation framework spanning resources, technology and infrastructure, whose commercial outcomes will depend on subsequent projects and agreements.
