Companies with share capital, classified in Italy as società di capitali, accounted for 79% of the country’s net increase in businesses in the third quarter of 2026. Their number rose by 14,529, a growth rate of 0.73%, Unioncamere reported on 22 October.

Sole proprietorships increased by 5,030, while partnerships declined by 1,342.

Across all legal forms, the national balance reached 18,403 additional businesses. This reflected 62,788 registrations and 44,385 closures, excluding administrative removals. The net gain exceeded the 16,920 recorded in the corresponding quarter of 2025.

The Movimprese release, also covered by Agenparl, tracks business registrations and closures; these figures are not a measure of corporate profitability.
